Nightwish's "Greatest Show on Earth" (intro) recorded using Pianoteq 7 Pro, and my Juno DS88.

another excellent treatment.  we definitely need more stuff like this.  also it would be great to upload your preset to the FXP corner, it's great for this kind of stuff.

Thanks. The preset is uploaded to FXP cover, but FXP corner seems to be down at the moment.

Re: Pianoteq: Greatest Show on Earth

A feature I wish Pianoteq would include in the future is for the displayed notes to take into consideration your tuning. I play this song with the keyboard transposed down a full step (-2), so my fingering is different than what is displayed in the video.

do you mean you're transposing using some feature of the keyboard controller or with the transpose in the midi options of pianoteq?

The transposition in midi options.

Re: Pianoteq: Greatest Show on Earth

one workaround, if i understand correctly is this.  suppose you're playing the tune in C and but you want a midi file in Bb, so that when you play the file back the keyboard shows the tune in Bb and the actual recording is also in Bb.  then you can play in C and use ptq to record a midi file.  then you can open the midi file in external software (like a DAW) and move the events down so that the file is in Bb.  then when you render the midi file for a video the keys will show playing in Bb.

probably there's an easier way but this is something i just thought of.

Re: Pianoteq: Greatest Show on Earth

I was actually able to pull it off using the advanced tuning setting instead of transposing. Honestly, I never messed with the advanced tuning since I had it! Oddly enough though, it has a different sound to it than when I transpose using midi options. Not sure why, but it does. I like the transposed sound better.

Re: Pianoteq: Greatest Show on Earth

you can do insane things with the tuning stuff ... for instance you can reverse the keyboard so the lows are in the right hand and the highs in the left.  very fun.

there is an option in the tuning that toggles between "string tension" and "full rebuild". by default it's set to string tension.  try changing that to full rebuild.  it will reconstruct the model from scratch instead of just tightening or loosening the strings.  i think it gives better results.

That did the trick! Thank you so much. I guess I need to explore a bit more, find out what else I missed.
