Topic: Pianoteq together with onboard piano sounds - am I weird?

So... recently I forgot to switch off my Roland's built-in speaker and was playing for some time using both Pianoteq via monitors.

The result was very pleasing and spacious... I wanted to check on what preset I was on then to realise that what made it so nice was the combination of Roland's sound and the Pianoteq.

It seems them together created nice overlay and fact that I was now getting sound from 4 speakers and not only 2 made it for a great experience.

Does anyone run it the same? Did you try it?

Re: Pianoteq together with onboard piano sounds - am I weird?

No, I don't think you're weird... but then, speaking as somebody who does some fairly weird things with Pianoteq, I'm probably not the best person to judge! Anyway, I think several people have done something similar, blending Pianoteq with either a DP's onboard sound or another software piano. I haven't tried it myself, but maybe I will some time, just for curiosity.

I also did it once, by accident, and I don't want to do it again: there was clearly a problem of relative tuning between the two sounds. Not as simple as it seems.

I tried it too, by accident, and I found it muddy and not at all pleasing.
