Re: New Rhodes

Thank you, Chris!

”Rhodes left out any mention of exactly when we’ll get to witness and hear this….”.
Well, let’s see what they can come up with and if we can create something similar with Modartt products.
I was just experimenting.  I think I got a wider and fuller sound in my experiments now. It is important how you feel how the sound is born, how it wells out, how it slowly dies out……a new sound That’s how I think about it.

Best wishes,

Stig

Re: New Rhodes

And here I was thinking a new instrument was added to the EPs pack! Don't play me like that, I have an age, you know?

If they manage to pull this one off (not vapourware, and also turns out to be really good - and different, yet familiar) perhaps it really will be a new model at some point!

Don't think we'll be calling you from your cocoa, pipe and slippers just yet!

I like the dreamy Rhodes sound like this classic track:

Hi again!
My Vangelis’ sound        Of course not, but a fuller wider sound than my attempts before, at least completely different from the presets available.

Yeah, like that too. Bell like crispy tones. For my tastes I would have the delay a little quieter,  but it's all subjective.

Re: New Rhodes

One more example of ”Rhodes sound” with MK Tine l and ll + bass.  Now I take a break with Tines experiment and going back to Organteq You may increase the volume a bit.
Enjoy.

Re: New Rhodes

If you wanted a real (traditional/classic) Rhodes electric piano this company in the US makes and services them:
https://www.vintagevibe.com/pages/vintage-vibe-piano

Rhodes Music Group in UK is oddly enough currently based in Leeds in the north of England.
Googling Leeds and Rhodes I found something entirely different. An expensive sample instrument based on a supposedly famous US based Leeds "E" rental unit of a Rhodes EP of some repute, a single suitcase unit used by a number of artists during the 80s. A unit famed for top to bottom clarity - something trivial in physical modelling.

It's the Rhodes OTS sampled for their new Kontakt library. Very nice sounding but not as groundbreaking programming wise I would say like other ones, I am thinking Acousticsamples hybrid approach or the newest Scarbee the Big One.

Re: New Rhodes

The new Rhodes it appears is being developed with/by someone that has been a Rhodes service engineer:
https://m.facebook.com/TheRhodesWorks/

So I imagine this new Rhodes is likely to be more akin to Vintage Vibe in the USA, rather than something technically more different like the Valente which didn't sound exactly like a Rhodes or Wurly.

Re: New Rhodes

Apparently the keybed is going to be supplied by this company related to Steinway, so I imagine this is going to be a more expensive product than the more Wurly like Valente.
