Topic: How to reset single parameter

Hi everyone,

newbie question: let's say I edited some parameters on the interface, but I wish to reset the "unison width" parameter only to its default value, is there a shortcut or something to do that?

Thanks

If it's not in the user manual and nobody replies here, you should drop Modartt an Email, as it might be an feature request.

I saw "SamTheBeardGuy" doing it on a pianoteq video on YouTube but it won't show what he presses on the keyboard, if so. So I guess it's possible. The reason why I need this is for when I edit parameters looking for a specific tone and I want to reset one of them but can't remember its default value.

Well, you COULD freeze all parameters but one and then reset it. That would only reset 1 parameter.
Perhaps he did just do undo. That would be CTRL+Z or APPLE+Z on macOS

Re: How to reset single parameter

What I saw in that guy's video of pianoteq is that he moved a cursor to a side with his mouse, then it looked like he was pressing a key on the keyboard and the cursor went instantly back to its original position. I was wondering if anybody knows the shurtcut, if there's such thing.

Post the video. If it's the mouse cursor, it can't be a functionality of PianoTeq. That would be more like automation a la Autohotkey...
You meant the Slider, right? Not the cursor

go to 13 minutes 26 seconds. He presses something and the slider goes back to default.

I just tried. You can use SHIFT+COMMAND+C and then select all parameters to copy. Close through another SHIFT+COMMAND+C
Afterwards change the slider, but then press SHIFT+COMMAND+V to restore the (your) setting before.
Note that you have todo that before every change.

idk if that helps

Could be a way to achieve that, but in that case it's probably easier to double click the slider and a panel will open up and press "reset" perhaps? I've just found out by experimenting too, but I have no idea how the guy on YT is resetting the silder quickly by pressing a button on the keyboard...
Thank you for your help, buddy!

Not a fan of any mouse or touch operation.
If you are about to do so much effort, you also can setup a seperate MIDI device with (physical) knobs and sliders that store a value.
Those you can then press to restore individual settings and you don't even need the PianoTeq GUI anymore cause you have the physical knobs.

There is a MIDI (learn) option in PianoTeq.

Re: How to reset single parameter

Maybe that's how he does it? Who knows. Thanks again.

If anybody is aware of a keyboard shortcut please let me know.

You can use alt + click (option + click on mac) on the "unison width" slider.

Where can I find that in the user documentation / Keyboard help and what is the keyboard only alternative?

Re: How to reset single parameter

is alt - (left) click supposed to do this on Linux?  i just tried and it didn't seem to work.  perhaps i'm misunderstanding what to do.

No, it's a custom action, which probably isn't covered by the old principles of User Interaction.
You are supposed to hold ALT and then click onto the slider.

As a standard consideration, every mouse action has to be doable on the Keyboard.
