In the mood for ”Elegiac Cycle” - I had not heard of this album by American pianist Brad Mehldau, 51. Thank you, always learning in this forum I listened to Bard and the other pieces on yt - interesting.
I like your ”Brad”. I feel that you really play in a elegiac way. You say not complicated, but sometimes elegiac specifically refers to something or someone that's gone: a person who's died, or a time in the past. And when listening I felt a sense of longing for a time in the past. And remembering things I did with my son.
I think that your music has a bit sorrowful tone. But that is a good thing, you know, I enjoyed the music because of what you made me remember. Thank you Will !

really beautiful piece and a fine tribute to this great player. it does capture the mood of his Elegiac Cycle, one of the all time great solo piano albums imo. i wish i could get a lead sheet so i could try my hand at it!
Thanks Budo ! I can give you the score if you want (sure you could play some nice improvisations on it). And yes, I feel the same thing about this album.
Actually, I'm learning some Elegiac mvts. It was a crazy work to transcribe this.
