Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, "In the Hall of the Mountain King"
”In The Hall of The Mountain King” is from the same play as ”Morning mood” (which I uploded with Organteq). To the music has been made a fairy tale. Peer watches when the trolls dance and the troll King sits on his throne, the dance gets faster and the trolls discover the boy Peer. He runs towards the exit and manages to get out before the opening door collapses, (the triple forte fff fortississmo, very very loud, at the end). My pupils wanted to draw trolls which were then shown with the overhead projector, when listening, well yes OH, it was tn the 80’s
Amazing how it's the same simple ”melody” over and over again (16-18 times) but the increasing tempo make it so good, it’s of course better with orchestra, maybe one of the greatest piece of music ever composed. Well there are many of them, greatest pieces
I attach ”Morning Mood” too, if someone missed it.
