Topic: Fortepiano

Hi,
Just wondering which historical piano can be called or similar in sound to a fortepiano? I really like the sound of the fortepiano used by Geoffrey Lancaster and would like to replicate that. I already have the Karsten collection - newly acquired.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Hi,
I changed Neupert a bit. It has been said that this sounds a bit like a fortepiano (in the thread ”I really don’t like the Neupert clavichord”). Try to modify, make changes. Perhaps you can get it better. Good luck!

You really need to be a bit more specific.  What recording or if possible what the instrument is referred to as (e.g. maker, year of build).  If you can direct people to an example on e.g. YouTube then they might be able to help with an FXP or advice.

What version of Pianoteq do you have,  stage, standard or pro ?  Makes a difference as to what is possible to tweak.

I see that there is a Walter piano amongst the 'freebies'. This is great as Mozart purchased a Walter piano. Today the fortepiano is kept in Mozart‘s birthplace in Salzburg.

I have Standard 7.
