Topic: The Favorite Joplin Rag time

The Favorite   Joplin

In this piece I had difficulties to play those octaves with many tones between because of my small hands.
That I have struggled with all my life. But, I can play … somewhat.
Fortunately, now at the end of my life, (I mean not many years left), I do not think about it anymore. As younger, when I got small wounds on my hands in the woods I said well, you will never be a pianist hand.

And - after playing this piece I found on youtube this ”Tips for Pianists with Small Hands” 1) Play on the outer edge of the white key 2) Play with the side of the finger tips for the black keys!!   If only I had known this 65 years ago…….Well, how do they say, better late than never

Yes Stig, now, you're compelled to give us an organ version too !

I wish I were a "young" man like you.

”…..A young man…”   Ha ha, very amusing. Yes I am a very young man, who slowly goes year by year towards eighty

And the organ version is here above.
Thank you, Will. I like your humour.

Thanks, Rag-Master.  I had not heard this piece before, but I like it.

Oh, what compliments I get…Rag-Master (young man, music lover…). Thank you dklein. I feel moved…
But, "The King of Ragtime", Scott Joplin, wrote 44 original ragtime pieces (as far as I know) and he is the real Rag-master  I’m only ”a young man” going year by year towards eighty.
Thanks, dklien, for your kindness,

Stig
