Topic: All my Joplin ragtime music in one place (pianoteqenthusiast)

Here I upload my recordings of Joplin’s ragtime pieces, every so often.

I think it might be good to put all my ragtime music in one place for those who are interested in such music. Over time, they are otherwise scattered and drown in the amount of uploaded recordings.

1)   Maple Leaf Rag

2)    Bethena

3)    Pleasant Moments

And here is Joplin playing from his piano roll (1916 ?) Tempo and rhythm is a bit like my playing...

And here my try with Steingraeber Prepared

4)  Eugenia

I found this piece difficult, tricky. And in addition, the pedal stopped working.
In the sheet it says pedal, in two places, but unfortunately the piano pedal stayed in position ”on” all the time. Have to buy a new one.
But I think the piece is nice

6)  Home On The Range as a rag time  (was so funny and some nice "fills" in piano some places...couldn't resist to record it)

7)  Organteq rag  (Maple Leaf Rag with Organnteq)

8)  Bethena with Organteq       Concert Waltz     combining rag time and Waltz

9)   Weeping Willow

Thanks for the suggestion of The entertainer. There were so much Joplin music I was like drowning when searching. Found The Cascades, Swipesy, The Favorite…..but forgot entertainer. I can give it a try as next one. Thanks !

Wow - another interesting and impressive arc you're traveling along Pianoteqenthusiast!

Many thanks, these renderings are very entertaining (hat tip for 'The Entertainer' mentioned by Amaryllis - it may be obligatory in this vein

My hat is off again to you - particularly loved the way the Steingraeber Prepared sounds in the vid! You're amazing - wishing you the best.

It's great that you've created a special post for your Joplin recordings. Particularly nice to hear Bethena. So many little gems to explore! Maybe some time you might like to look at Solace - Joplin at his lyrical best, I think.
Have you thought about trying some ragtime on the organ?

I haven't heard most of these, and thank you Stig for bringing them to life in your personal way - it's awesome. I know that working your way through this repertoire is a labor of love for you and I feel it in these

The Swipesy video showing modern city with sped-up traffic/pedestrians and then quiet landscapes was an interesting experience. The busy nature of the music hints that the same busy life the music seemed to be inspired by in the past, still goes on, but there's always the landscape untouched somewhere still hopefully for contrast

Thanks again!
