Topic: Just Messing Around With Layers
Having fun creating unusual stops for the harpsichord, such as a 'mutation' of 2-2/3'. (I don't know what the limitation is for the diapason setting, but I had to revert to using transpose (see image) to move the stop up to the 5th.) Listen to the second section and the last section where a 4' stop is mixed with an 8'.
By using the diapason setting to shift the layers you get the full compass of the keyboard, transpose does'nt offer the same - which is understandable. It's possible, therefore, to have a 16'+8'+4' setting for a really rich harpsichord stop. You could probably go 'mad' and have a "Jeu de Tierce."
Beethoven - Sonatina I in G each section uses a different, layer-created stop
