Hi, I've just bought an SL 88 Grand and plugged it into my Mac running Pianoteq 7. I'm not sure what adjustments I should make, but one thing I am getting is an error message "Pianoteq is receiving many duplicate note-ON MIDI events (same note, same velocity). It's working fine, but I'm sure I should adjust something soon.
Also, I have calibrated but I'm not sure how to store it so that it works with every piano I use.

It's likely that the MIDI from your SL 88 Grand keyboard is being output using either or both a MIDI cable --> MIDI interface --> your computer, or through a USB cable connected directly to your computer, and the routing is such that the same MIDI data is being output in multiple sources.
So, the first thing to do is to look at Pianoteq --> Options --> MIDI pane and observe the MIDI messages received by Pianoteq, to see which identical MIDI events are being received on which (possibly different) channels.
The next thing to try is to open the devices tab of Pianoteq's options, UNclick "Listen to all MIDI inputs," then select only one MIDI input at a time, to see which one (or more) inputs are supplying Pianoteq with identical MIDI data.
It's a routing problem, whether the source of the issue is within the configuration of your SL 88 Grand (consult the manual about MIDI routing--I believe the SL 88 Grand can send up to four simultaneous MIDI "zones"), an external MIDI interface between your keyboard and the computer, or within the computer itself. I would start by suspecting multiple SL 88 Grand MIDI outputs.
Also, use a forum search for "duplicate MIDI" to find other topics about this subject. Once you have it figured out (it has happened to many of us for various reasons), you could perhaps help the next person who brings up the issue. In addition, you might change the title of this topic from the generic "Error message" to "Duplicate MIDI events."

The standard setup of the SL88 uses more than one zone on program 001. You should disable them with the SL Editor - except for zone 1.
In the midi monitor of Pianoteq, you should not see more than one event when you press a single note.
(I don't have problems when Pianoteq listens to the second port as well)

I have the SL Editor in front of me, but I'm afraid I've no idea how to disable the zones. I'm afraid I'm pretty ignorant of midi.

I managed to do it, I think, via the LCD screen on the SL 88. There is only one zone with any writing in it. We'll see how it goes.
