Topic: Studio monitor problem.

Hi all.

Would anyone be kind enough to help me.

I have just set up my VPC 1, laptop and presonus 24c interface (all brand new).

I have M- Audio BX8 studio monitors ( a few years old), and have connected them via TRS cables to the interface, but the sound is still coming through the laptop speakers.

Could I have a suggestion, please?

Many thanks

Kenny.

It might help to know whether you are using MacOS, Linux, Windows ...
However, as a start, in Pianoteq, select Options--Devices, and choose one of the entries for the Presonus 24C interface as the output device (rather than the laptop speakers).

Linux, Pianoteq Pro, Organteq

Re: Studio monitor problem.

For Windows 10:

Click on the speaker icon located in the lower right next to the action center. This will bring up your volume control and you can also choose which output you want to use. Right-click for sound-device options.

Depending upon which sound-card (circuit) your laptop uses, you may have the option to setup external speakers. I assume that the studio monitors will be connected to your external sound output.

I have more to add to this which I forgot and ran into the other day when I reinstalled my sound card drivers.

When you start up Pianoteq for the first time, click down in the tray where the antivirus and other notifications are located. Open up the ASIO4ALL, and ensure that your sound card is "connected".

Expand the sound card... Mine is Realtek High-Definition Audio.
There are small plug icons located next to outputs.
If your port is disconnected, there will be a red X through the connection and the plug will be dark.
If there's a connection, the small plug will be enabled and a small arrow pointing to the connection will appear.

I'm sorry if this isn't clear, but I'm not sure how to post images here, otherwise, I would upload images to demonstrate where this is.
