Topic: Sonata, Opus Something for Clarinet and Piano

Greetings!

I've been using Pianoteq's wonderful Steinway D for a few years now.  It finds its way in to all of my works that use piano.  The piece I'm sharing below is my latest, and I hope for those of you willing to sit through the 17 minute, 3 movement work (I know, I know...this is an internet forum, not a concert hall!) you'll get something out of it.

Cheers and thanks for taking a chance on this piece!

First I thought this music, it’s a bit complicated. But the more I listened I found many different parts, and they were kind of related. I liked especially the very fast, funny, running, jumping part from 13,45 - . And I smiled when i heard the last part from 16,36 to the end, the clarinet reminded me of Rimsky-Korsakov "Flight of the Bumblebee"
So, thank you, dearvillain! It was nice to be part of this 17 minute journey - undoubtledly amazing  music!

”I know...this is an internet forum, not a concert hall!”
Well, I really felt I had a concert hall in my own little studio when listening. This sub-forum is made just for that - sharing and listening.:)
Thank you!

I'm humbled by your kind words, Pianoteqenthusiast!  Thank you for your thoughtful post and taking the time to listen.  It's always a challenge to write in a way that's complex, yet accessible.  I always try to make music that upon subsequent listens can reveal more intricacies.  Of course, it's hard for us to objectively hear our music through the lens (or ears!) of others, and I fully understand that what I shared might be more involved than people are willing to sample.

Cheers!
