Topic: Laptop model recommendations for live performance with PTQ?

Hello everyone,

I've been looking into 2-in-1 laptops to host Pianoteq for live performance.

Any budget recommendations?

Thanks

I tried Pianoteq 6 on my wife's 2n1 EnvyX360 with a AMD 2700U processor and it worked fine. I would think any new computer with i-core or AMD new Ryzen processor would be fine.  Now for me I have been looking at some for myself and with my poor vision I know I need at least a 300nit screen or brighter. My wife's screen is only 250nit and it matter to me.  I missed the last sale on the new Lenovo Thinkbook 14s yoga.  That is the one I was eyeing. Now that it is so close to CES2021, I figure I would wait to see what is coming out. If anything the old models will get a price cut

Thanks @instread ...  That's a little out of my price range, however.  I may go with this:

By the way, for anyone buying or building a PC, I've found MicroCenter to be the best place to buy from.  Always seem to have the lowest prices.  (I'm not being paid to say this, I JUST REALLY LIKE THEM.)

If Microcenter there is a Lenovo Flex 14" AMD Ryzen 4300U I would go with.  My daughter has the 14" Flex with a Ryzen 4700U since July and loves it.  She uses an active pen with it for school remote learning and saves her a lot of time doing school work.

Yeah, I just checked on that one...  Looks good!  Probably will go with that...

Thanks!

I'm using a MBP with 8GB ram from 2012 for playing. My CPU load is consitently below 30%, so I'd say as long as you just want to run a single instance in a performance I wouldn't worry too much about the hardware. Basically anything should do the trick
