Topic: Losing Midi with Pteq7

Hi,

i use PTeq 7 Pro standalone on a W10 PC together with a Casio PX S-1000.

After playing for a while the Midi connection gets lost, notes played on the Casio no longer get transferred to PTeq.

Restarting PTeq doesn't solve the issue, only restarting the Casio does so far.

I already checked the USB Energy settings and turned selective savings to off, but that didn't help.

Does somerbody have an idea what migfht cause this annoying issue, and how to get rid of it?

Thank you in advance

You check your cables?

Pianoteq 8 Studio Bundle, Pearl malletSTATION EM1, Roland (DRUM SOUND MODULE TD-30, HandSonic 10, AX-1), Akai EWI USB, Yamaha DIGITAL PIANO P-95, M-Audio STUDIOPHILE BX5, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP.

And length of the cable?

Re: Losing Midi with Pteq7

Thanks guys,

checking / switching the cable (100 cm) was the first thing i tried,

I just forgot to mention it in my post ...

Re: Losing Midi with Pteq7

Test it with MIDI-OX.

Re: Losing Midi with Pteq7

More information about your specific setup and MIDI routing might allow others to offer better suggestions. For example, do you route the MIDI from your keyboard directly into the PC via a USB connection, or do you attach a MIDI cable to the MIDI out of the keyboard, attach the other end of that MIDI cable to an audio interface that has a MIDI input, or to a MIDI hub that is connected to your PC by USB, or--?

Using MidiOX or some other MIDI monitor app (I use MIDIsnoop in Linux), can you see that you are receiving a much larger quantity of MIDI messages than you expect (multiple channels, duplicate MIDI entries or whatever)? Anyway, the more specific and detailed you can be regarding your exact hardware and software, and the cable and MIDI connections between them, and routing within the PC, etc., the better.

My keyboard (a Kawai MP11SE) is configurable regarding how it routes its internal MIDI to "the outside world" (through a MIDI or USB port on the keyboard, or both), and exactly which MIDI data it sends or is prevented from sending. Perhaps your keyboard has some internal MIDI configuration that you can adjust.

Anyway, good luck.

Re: Losing Midi with Pteq7

If you can get results only when you restart the keyboard, I’d maybe guess your problem lies within it, that or either your operating system.

You may want to do a complete keyboard reset.
