Topic: Can someone with Standard tell me how hard the hammers are on "tacky"?

Hi forum, I have Stage and the "Tacky" preset is my favorite but I'm looking for an even "tackier" sound. I'd upgrade to Standard if I knew there was room to get the hammers even harder than "Tacky". Can someone with Standard let me know if the hammers can get harder than the "Tacky" preset?

What I really want is a metallic tack sound but I'll take what I can get.
Thanks!

Are you referring to the U4 or a different piano? Every piano has different presets. As for the U4, yes there is room to make the hammers harder, but the "Tacky" sound doesn't come from hammer hardness alone, you can also change the overtones, strikepoint etc. Especially the overtones have a lot of influence on how "harsh" the piano sounds.

Here I made you a preset for the U4 based on tacky that sounds like adding actual tacks to the hammers (tried to emulate that metallic "clang" they make when hitting the strings). Sounds very metallic and that's still not "maxed out" how hard you could make the hammers if you prefer a harder sound:

Edit: Added an audio demo so you can preview the FXP

Hi florian.rachor, thanks so much for the response. I was indeed referring to the “tacky” preset of the U4 piano and thanks for clarifying. The info you gave me here is really helpful and it’s so kind of you to make this “very tacky” preset. I’m looking forward to trying it this evening and I’ll let you know how it goes!

Hi florian.rachor, I tried your FXP and it sounds awesome. It convinced me to buy the Standard 7. Thanks!

Hey, no problem, I'm glad you liked it. Have fun with standard. If I can give you one tip: Don't underestimate changing the microphone settings. For the U4 you even have a wall that you can put it against. I just fiddled with the piano settings in the beginning and understimated the influence of the mics.
