Topic: One way ahead? Built in piano defects!

Thought I'd chip in here if nobody minds too much . . . smile I was playing quite a lot today for some reason (probably nothing better to do) and strangely everything went well. I was in a good mood and let rip.
No headphones, no neighbours at present. And for the last couple of days I've been using that which emuates the antique straight strung Erard.
Sounded darn good; those well out o' tune notes in the lower register continue to ring when they shouldn't, as do one or two of the resonances, long after I've stopped playing. That and the Ancient Bechstein between them manage to convey in no uncertain terms all that's bad about acoustics.
I'm hooked on them. The pianos' imperfections have at long last won me over.

Now maybe I can just play the music. . . .. . . . Happy days!

I'm playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order

Glad you had such enjoyment, made me smile a big smile, Peter

Always enjoy your thoughts and nobody minds you chipping in. It's a great thing when you have the right mood and everything clicks - hats off to you. Love those old pianos so much.
