Topic: Midi sequencer commands

-I found the qwerty keyboard commands for play/stop and rewind, but according to an old post (2010!), the * key should activate « record ». It doesn’t on my apple wireless keyboard. Has this been changed in later versions, or maybe it depends on the particular qwerty keyboard?

-i figured out how to use keys on my midi controller to control the pianoteq midi sequencer (let’s say lowest note starts record, top note pauses, etc) but I  would like those notes to be silent, i.e. not trigger the sound engine. Is there a way to do that? Searches on the forum returned nothing.

Just change the key-mapping: in Help --> Keyboard Shortcuts, in the Sequencer section, click the button with the "*" and press another key (like the number key 8). In my case, I added some entries to a Pianoteq MIDI mapping (Options --> MIDI) so that the "Play," "Stop" and other buttons on my Kawai MP11SE digital piano trigger Pianoteq's sequencer functions.

Thanks Stephen for the reminder. I had completely forgotten that the Keyboard Shortcuts where in the Help menu...a place I don't visit very often obviously... Shouldn't they be in the Options menu ? Just saying...

Re: Midi sequencer commands

and to answer my own second question (!):
I finally figured out how to define the lowest and highest keys of my midi keyboard to control "record" and "play" respectively, and I realized that by doing so they are automatically excluded from the active key range (as shown by the orange overlays on the keyboard display).
