Topic: Problem with Reactivation required for updated version(3.6.8 to 4.5.5)

Hi Everybody.

I used Pianoteq 3.6.8 for many years (quite happy with it).
Last days I downloaded and installed Pianoteq update 4.5.5 from website.
It looks like the version 4.5.5 requires a "re-activate" in order to be used ("key-file is too old".)
Since I have already used all 3 activation slots, but modartt people say
"when you deactivate at a certain PC, then you cannot reinstall pianoteq at that PC in a future time"
how am I supposed to perform reactivation?
Any experiences on re-activation procedure?

I have posted to modartt yesterday but I have not received yet.

Usually, we have yo pay for the upgrades with the excaption of those cases in which less than a year has passed between the moment of the original purchase and the release of the new version

C'mon! The upgrade from 3.6.8 to version 6 STAGE is COMPLETELY FREE (0€) you just have to enter the old serial. Check it for youself!
My question is whether I can de-activate a license and install a greater version on the SAME computer!
This is supposed to be prohibited, so, how can I upgrade to a new version?
All 3 slots have been used because I am working on more than 1 PC at the time (myself only).

Where does it say that it is completely free?
You have to enter your serial here https://www.modartt.com/upgrades, but probably only because your upgraded version has to be linked to your account. And if you own 3.6.8 stage you will end up with 6.x.y stage (and not standard, or what ever).

This is what the F.A.Q. says:
I purchased my Pianoteq licence recently. Do I need to pay for the upgrade?
If you purchased your licence after 1 September 2016, the upgrade to version 6 is free. Download from the user area.

In other words: if you own at least 5.8.0 (2016/11/02), then the upgrade to 6.x.y. is free.

But according to your information, you own 3.6.8 (which is from 2012/01/16), so you will have to pay.
But not too much. I remember that it is only € 29 (or so).

Have a nice day & happy playin'

Shouldn't he consider waiting for version 7 before upgrading? If the does it now, won't he have to upgrade twice for 7?

Thank you for reminding me this, anyway!
It will be no worry for the short future: upgrade is free for some months after purchase. ;-)

Any idea which piano pack to choose if I upgrade to "Pianoteq 6 Standard" ? (1 piano package of your choice is free). The pianos I have now come from version 3.6.8..

I think you are right about the upgrade. As far as the instrument choice, there are many postings about this. Some like to choose a sound different from the instruments they already have. You might want to download the PT6 demo to get some idea of the sounds or listen to the website samples, especially ones that use an unmodified preset.

I think I should try the demo, thx!
Usually all website samples sound fantastic, you can't choose.. :-)
