Topic: Traditional Breton song
My partner Claire Boucher is a traditional singer from southern Brittany; we recorded a video concert in our living room earlier this summer for a festival in Maine (USA) and this song is an excerpt. I only started playing keyboard in January 2019, so I have to compose arrangements that are simple and spare enough for me to be able to actually play (which works well for accompaniment anyway since the focus should be on the singer). I barely read music and can't write it so I composed this simple arrangement in my head and worked it out on the keyboard until I was happy with it.
I used the Petrov "cinematic" with a few small tweaks. This was recorded live with a stereo pair of wide cardioid mics, so I simply played it out through a speaker. Claire really poured her heart into this song.
