Topic: Brian Eno uses Pianoteq
Delighted to read in Modartt's newsletter that Brian Eno has begun to use Pianoteq
Here's Eno's testimony on the Modartt References page for anyone who didn't read via the newsletter.
I've espoused most of these same things (and praise for the genius of Pianoteq's creation) and it's excellent to hear this echoed by someone with such a wonderful presence in music, hoping to see others who make modern music adopt Pianoteq as their new obvious-fav piano.
Posting for convenience to forum readers:
I bought Pianoteq 6 a couple of weeks ago. I think it is the most well-realised and intelligently constructed piece of music software I've ever had the pleasure of using. It is an absolute milestone. Aside from its incredible power as an emulator of pianos, the possibilities that unfold when you start to edit the models are astonishing. I've been lost in it since I bought it, and keep dragging friends into the studio to show them this miracle. The randomisation possibilities are so intelligently constructed and are a great help in understanding the enormous variety of possibilities this instrument offer. I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a piece of software design and I just wanted to thank the team who put this together.
This genuinely thrills me in various ways - firstly, hoping to hear what Brian Eno does with Pianoteq in his own music of course, but also glad to know that Eno fans and more producers in this vein will likely discover Pianoteq for themselves now.
I stumbled (like a broken head) onto using Pianoteq in a similar way to the way I imagined Brian and Roger Eno did on the Apollo album. Pianoteq allowed me to play with this and myriad other creative concepts digitally. Hard to say succinctly, but certain production techniques I enjoy can best be realised via Pianoteq IMO and for me, nothing else compares for this.
Marvelous to feel so proud of Modartt for the incredible work of scientific art, and for me, this is inspiring news. Brian Eno has been one of my foundational inspirations (not just in terms of music, but in thinking re music and beyond).
A very glad thanks for your endorsement Mr. Eno.
