Topic: Rhodes like Richard Tee

Hello,

I am trying to build a Rhodes sound like the unike sound used Richard Tee with his SmallStone phaser, but I am not really managing to get it right in the eye.

Has anyone out there tried the same with success? And can share some parameters please?

Kind regards
SteenC

Re: Rhodes like Richard Tee

I just found the Richard Tee .fxp from Doctor Groove. I will play a little but with that one. Sound a little bit sharper than what I remember, but I wil give it a try.

Thanks

Re: Rhodes like Richard Tee

I'm not familiar with Richard Tee - do you have a link to an example recording of the sound you want?
If it turns out that Pianoteq's phaser isn't good enough, there will probably be VST effects plugins that are - perhaps even some free ones.

Hi there.....I just posted a new FXP called Cruise Control with tons of Phaser goodness built in to it.  You can mess around with the settings to make it more to your taste. In the actual Phaser settings if you turn up the feedback it gets more of a Stone phaser sound..Good luck and let me know what you think and i can modify it some more........

Steve.....(Doctor Groove in the FXP land)

I will see what I can find. You can get an idea here starting at 16:50:

But there are tunes where it is much more outspoken.

Thanks, I will check it out. First very quick impression is that it has a bit more edge that RT's sound, which was impressingly soft and ringing. Your Richard Tee FXP is not that far off. It has also a lot to do with his playing style. I wonder if he also used a whah pedal?

Thanks Steen - much appreciated. That really is an excellent sound. I'm no expert, but I don't think he's using a wah-wah as well.

Tried Dr Groove's second FXP - I think he's nailed the phasing effect - it's good enough for me, anyway.   Great job!
I agree with Steen that the tone is too bright though - but that's easy to fix.
