Topic: And when Organteq woke up….
A foretaste of my forthcoming Festmusik.
Festmusik (Stig Gustav Schönberg 1958, swedish composer and organist) is my work in progress. This is the beginning of a 5 pages piece, probably a long process for me - difficult, certainly, but worthwhile. I got through Händel Hallelujah, somehow. But this seems to be 10 times more difficult…
I heard it first time 1971, standing beside the organ, and the organist had only 4 fingers on left hand! I never forgot what I heard, a Masterpiece, a work of outstanding artistry.
Of course, at that time, I was absolutely sure not to be able to play it, never.
But now, I find a tremendous joy to ”command” (as I have learned to say) Organteq with Schönberg’s style. ”Especially the less restricted, quasi-improvisatory forms of the Baroque (toccatas and preludes) and various models of thematic development”.
I hope I get it right one day, and can bring to other people, what gave me such a tremendous joy 1971, and gives me now again, when playing Organteq
Let this be an example of how it sounded, before I could play it right, when I struggled, and an appetizer intended to stimulate the appetite for listening, when the entire recording is completed, at some point
