Re: Beethoven Rondo op. 51 nr 1

I very much like this post of yours.  Although like many I’m basically self-taught at a piano, I truly get a reassuring example of someone obviously aware of his use of intonation through the phrasing with the piano instruments, Kawai keyboard (controller) and PIANOTEQ (software) appropriately you used to post your wonderful rendition of Beethoven.

You really seem in it to have discovered your own individual voice or just quite that of the software voicing parameters, even though inside a mainly period piece.

Whether or not any others are ever going eventually to fully appreciate this comment, remaining true to myself, as a listener I feel only absent from you was a sense of the period of the music coming to complete the fine performance of the historical piece, in enough or more than enough old world authenticity or anything that alludes to it, possibly, to add some familiar finish to it in a widely accepted underlying undeniable style.  That a preamp as discussed earlier at this forum possibly might impart or leave with a certain indisputable impression left upon any who play or honestly appreciates music of Beethoven.

Shamelessly, I too plug a topic post of my own, namely Vote Yes or No for Pres.

So, I’m wondering if you, by your knowledge of his music and how one truly is to play it, care to comment one way or another at the other topic.  Do you care to leave a comment there irrespective of my own partial views?  I’m sure any input coming from you is some very much appreciated and respected as well.

Beautifully played again, paulvanbladel! Like your playing JS Bach Prelude & Fugue (a 4 Voci) in c minor BWV 871. It brings a lot of joy. You inspire me to work on my new projects and follow my dreams. Thank you for sharing your talent with us all and giving these opportunies to listen, listen, not hear (I think hearing is passive You use Steinway again? Wonderful sound, like keeping my head near the lid and strings

Re: Beethoven Rondo op. 51 nr 1

Thank you very much. I must apologize but I even don't know what preamp is. I am really focussed on the piano playing, I use pianoteq as a genuine dummy. I have never changed any setting.
Do you think the recording is too romantic? I agree.

An elegant performance, very much enjoyed. I didn't think it was 'too romantic', just nicely expressive - I think it would come across very well on one of the historical pianos. Regarding settings, I don't think you need to change much at all, but do give the velocity curve some consideration. Other forum members have had trouble getting a good velocity response with Kawai keyboards. For example, see this thread: https://forum.modartt.com/viewtopic.php?id=7306

Thank you. I will check you advice with respect to velocity curve. I must leave my comfort zone

Very nice interpretation, full of sensitivity and delicacy, with great technical accuracy.
I'm sure that no sampled piano would allow such a quality. Thank you Pianoteq !

Thank you very much Gaston. Apprecié!
Indeed, thank you PianoTeq and I fully agree, an sampled piano can never get these rich overtones. It's an amazing product, I love it.

Wonderful Paul - Thank you for sharing.

I love the relaxed nature of your playing and the sensitivity of touch that goes 'hand in hand' with this.

Bravo
