Topic: Is there a way to sort or group the All instruments list in the GUI?

Hi,

i'd like to sort the instruments in the "All instruments" list either alphabetically,
or group them - for instance into Pianos / Grands, Others etc.

Also i'd like to "Favorite" my favorite instruments for specific setups, so i don't have to scroll much up and down the list of instruments.

Neither seems to be possible - or is it?

The A/B switch seems to be the only option to have at least 2 favorite instruments at hand. Unfortunately when using it, the instrument changes, but the preset list in the preset mgt. window doesn't change according to the instrument ...

Music was my first love. And it will be my last. Music of the future. And music of the past (John Miles)

You can do it in the Preset Manager (sort, filter, create your own banks of presets). If you like mousing around in the studio - it’s ok, but the interface is really unwieldy for live performance.

I built out what I needed in Mainstage instead. It makes it simple to use in realtime and I can have it exactly as I need.  (Gig Performer can also do the same thing.)

I still wish they would make a screen optimized for live performers in stand-alone mode, but Mainstage does the trick.

If you connect up an iphone or ipad, the $3 app MidiPad 2 can do something similar, have as many pads/buttons as you want organized on as many pages as you want.  ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/midipad-m...d896879399 ) There are other, more complicated apps that can do more (like Lemur and TouchOSC), but MidiPad seems well suited for this use.  Sonic Logic is another possibility, at $10. There are similar apps available on Android.
