Topic: Pianoteq Latency Issues

I'm having issues with latency when installing pianoteq on my PC.  Up until now, I've used it on my Mac with no issues at all.  The pc is a few months old, with a new i5 chip, 16 GB of RAM, an SSD...  I'm pretty sure the issue isn't midi latency because it persists whether I use a midi keyboard or pianoteq's onscreen keyboard that you can play with the mouse.  The lag is about 100-150ms I'd say.  Enough to make playing live a real problem.

I'm not too much up on pc audio/midi stuff (my background is on mac).  So anything you can do to spell it out for me with small words

Re: Pianoteq Latency Issues

Do you have an audio interface?

Kawai MP11SE / Pianoteq Pro Studio Bundle v7.5.2 (includes every Pianoteq instrument - 21 currently)

Re: Pianoteq Latency Issues

Installing pianoteq on a pc for low latency is a returning topic on this forum.
You need asio drivers and if you don’t have them, you have to install the universal ‘asio4all’ driver.
You can do a search on this forum with ‘asio’ for more info.
hope this helps.....

Re: Pianoteq Latency Issues

Try Windows Audio (Exclusive Mode), it works well on my laptop.

Re: Pianoteq Latency Issues

Or dual boot into Ubuntu and you can use jackaudio with the Low Latency Kernel.

Re: Pianoteq Latency Issues

Please confirm that you have configured a power plan in Windows Control Panel / Power Options that disables CPU stepping. (minimum processor state of 100%).
I had a similar problem with my laptop (i7-8750H, 32GB, nvme SSD disk,...).
Hope this helps!
