Topic: how to video record with piano teq

Hi,

This might be a dumb question but...

1) I have OBS and pianoteq.  Can someone advise how to video record via OBS, but only use the sound from Pianoteq?
2) When I have my piano connected, sound comes from both my piano and my laptop... how can I just get it to come out of my laptop?

Thanks...
Eric

You might get some better responses if you offer more details. Windows, Mac or Linux, for example. Audio interface? What exactly does "sound comes from both my piano and my laptop mean? (How are you routing the sound both outside of and within the computer (from where, to where, through what)? Are you using direct monitoring from your audio interface? There are lots of possibilities).

OBS allows for a variety of sometimes operating-system specific audio inputs. In Linux, I sometimes use PulseAudio sink and PulseAudio source in JACK, but more often I export an audio file from Pianoteq, record just the video with OBS, then sync the audio to the video in a video editing app.

At any rate, good luck.

Re: how to video record with piano teq

Usually, a piano keyboard has MIDI settings a user can adjust.  Local control is one of them.  If you can switch MIDI local control to its off position, that setting will shut off the keyboard’s internal sound engine.  When local control is set to off, no keyboard internal sound is generated by a key press.

A keyboard volume slider will also reduce and shut off the sounds of piano notes.

Pianoteq 8 Studio Bundle, Pearl malletSTATION EM1, Roland (DRUM SOUND MODULE TD-30, HandSonic 10, AX-1), Akai EWI USB, Yamaha DIGITAL PIANO P-95, M-Audio STUDIOPHILE BX5, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP.

If you're in Ubuntu, you can install kxstudio and use jackaudio to connect the output of pianoteq into the jacksource-sink audio in OBS.
