Topic: [SOLVED] Reopening Mixbus 32C requires fresh Pianoteq instance

I'm new to Pianoteq, and unfortunately I have quite an issue with it:
I run Mixbus 32C on a Linux machine, and loading up Pianoteq (Stage) is smooth.
Everything works perfectly, beautiful piano sound.

But the next time I load the same project, Pianoteq sounds as if the top half of the frequencies are missing.
All I get from the plugin are bumpy tones, more like a marimba than a piano. If I change instrument, it's the same. Bumpy, dull marimba.
However, if I replace the Pianoteq plugin with a new Pianoteq plugin, a fresh one, it sounds like beautiful piano music once again.

So I can use Pianoteq, but whenever I close the project and open it again, I will need to replace Pianoteq with a fresh instance and load the instrument and settings from last time.

I have no other plugins that behave like this, so it doesn't seem to be a DAW problem.
Does anyone have an idea what I could do about this?

Re: [SOLVED] Reopening Mixbus 32C requires fresh Pianoteq instance

I also use Mixbus32C (version 5.3.22) in Linux (Linux Mint, XFCE edition), and have Pianoteq Pro 6.6.0, and use both the standalone app and the Pianoteq LV2 plugin. In Mixbus32C I tend to use JACK (jack2) more often than ALSA as the audio-system backend, because Jack makes it easy to verify anything I route into or out of Mixbus32C.

However, I cannot reproduce the issue you mention (on my system the Pianoteq LV2 plugin sounds the same when closing and then reopening the session in Mixbus32C).

One thing you could try as a troubleshooting test is to use the standalone Pianoteq app instead of the LV2 plugin, and then route the audio output of the Pianoteq app to a track input within Mixbus32C, to test whether the same sound problem exists regardless of whether you use the Pianoteq plugin or the standalone app.

The LV2 plugin!
I forgot about the LV2.
The issue occurs only with the VST, the LV2 behaves perfectly.
Thank you so much, you just made me very happy!

Why were you using the VST instead of the native LV2 version of the plugin provided by the Linux distribution of Pianoteq from Modartt?
