Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, first section, Buxtehude
The melody is in the pedal.
Buxtehude was a Danish-German organist and composer during Baroque period, among the best before Bach. When Bach was about 20 year old he walked 1705 to Lubeck to study with D. Buxtehude. There is an interesting story about this 4 months long visit ( he had permission for only one month) and what happened to Bach when he came back to work. (In a protocol from that time) he got reproaches from the employer for being so long and then he got another job. Maybe Buxtehude gave Bach the idea of long intricate foreplay to chorales - read somewhere that people didn’t know what chorale to sing in church when Bach played:-) My intention with this short piece is to show the possibilities to get nice sounds with Organteq, I like especially the sound in this Buxtehude piece.
