Topic: Purchasing the Pianoteq Stage. Have a few questions please

When I purchase the Pianoteq Stage edition, they say it comes with 2 instrument packs.
I need some guidance on the instrument packs.
First, how many piano voices does the Stage come with?  Does it come with none and you have to picks the sounds via the 2 instrument packs?
I am mostly interested in a variety of good piano sounds.
Based on this info, can you suggest the most logical instrument packs for me?

Thank you!

Re: Purchasing the Pianoteq Stage. Have a few questions please

With a full version (Stage) of Pianoteq, you will be able to install the free instrument pack: https://www.pianoteq.com/free_stuff#kivir - you have to download it and install it. There's quite a good range there, historical pianos, harpsichords and other goodies.
As for your choice of instrument packs, well... if you ask 10 users, you will probably get 10 different answers. It depends on your taste, and what you like to play. The best thing is to try them all in demo before you purchase, and see what you like. There are concert grands (Steinway D, Bechstein, Bluthner, Steingraeber, Grotrian, Petrof), an upright (U4), studio grands (Steinway B, K2, 1899 Bechstein in Kremsegg 2), a so-called 'rock piano', although it can be used for classical and jazz (YC5), historical pianos (Kremsegg 1 & 2), and electric pianos.
(edit: K2 is a studio grand, not a concert grand).

I understand that you have to choose two instruments at the moment of the purchase... I would recommend you to test them from the demo. ( By the wat my two favourites are Steinway D and Blüthner )

Hey guys, thanks for the input!

I went ordered the Stage version and also selected my 2 instrument packages.
After playing with the demo for awhile, I went with the Steinway B and the Upright package. That and the several free ones will keep me happy for awhile. :-)

Thanks for your help!

Great, that sounds like a pretty solid choice. You will indeed find much to enjoy in those and the free instrument selection.
