Hello ColegadoMusic,

Interesting harmony and passages and playing you use. And I enjoy your way of dealing with chords, your approach. A new composer? As I wrote in your  I... You... One, I was waiting for something, and so this time, too. And now it was the E major chord in 1,39.
I like the diminuendo from 1,54, a decrease in loudness, the sudden diminuendos are brilliantly effective, but you could let it go down to silence before a sudden tumult, noise and excitement - some kind of change at the end.
But this is what I think about it.
Good going! Keep it up!

Re: Sharing "Fail.. Learn... Succeed..."

Thanks Pianoteqenthusiast.
Your feedback means a lot.
It gives me point of view from listeners.

I had few crappy compositions since I was 6 years old.
Having private piano lessons inspired me to compose.
Although, I was more of a piano player until 18.

Since then I stopped playing because
I didn't reach my own high expectations.
But, I did continue composing better music.

Fast forward 2019,
I declare myself a serious composer --
a MIDI solo piano music composer.

Me playing?
I have no plans.
I don't play good.

I'm not a performer.
I'm not playing my compositions.
I let my DAW (Mixcraft) using Pianoteq play them.

Thanks to advancing computer music technology.
It compensates for my performance inadequacies.

Colegado:  "Since then I stopped playing because
I didn't reach my own high expectations."

I do not know much about your entire playing capabilities. But the above stated by you is irrelevant IMHO.  You are probably not old enough yet to realize there are millions of people who do not play at all who would give anything to play as well as you already do.  No need to dwell.

Good Luck and keep playing!

Re: Sharing "Fail.. Learn... Succeed..."

Thanks LTECpiano for your encouragement.

I did dream of becoming a concert pianist.
I was at level 6 in private lessons.

Even then,
music didn't naturally
flow through my fingers.
This was my high expectation.

Somewhere along the way,
processing my aspiration and pressure,
I decided not to perform anymore.

I felt an inner sense of congruence.

I still think about that dream.
But, I'm past that already.

I'm at ease being a composer.

Re: Sharing "Fail.. Learn... Succeed..."

Thanks Colegado, for telling about yourself. I have a bit same experience. Played some years as a child and later my teacher said you will never be a pianist. But since I found Ptq 2013 and ”met” the wonderful people at Modartt and this forum, I play and compose. After many years, with help from Modartt people and forum, I can finally say, don’t let someone tell you that you can’t do something.
I’m old and not a pianist, but I can enjoy playing and composing with Ptq and making other people enjoying listening to what I play. These words I gladly pay forward to you. And I’m glad to read your words ”I'm at ease being a composer”. Never give up and be confident in what you do. Keep composing!

Thanks Pianoteqenthusiast.
Pianoteq I'd say is a breakthrough...

I'm better at composing than performing.
In fact, I can't play well my compositions.

So, I let Pianoteq "MIDI-play" them.
I'm hoping listeners won't mind that.

I believe it's the music that matters.
