CPU load measuring and multicore max

Hey all, I wanted to confirm whether the CPU load indicator in the "performance" tab of settings measures overall CPU load or CPU DSP load specifically?

Also I couldn't find info in the PTQ manual about multicore vs multicore max rendering? How does it differ from multicore ?
