Topic: Adding MIDI controller to MIDI-mapping. Possible?

Hallo dear reader,

Since yesterday I'm a happy owner and user of PTQ Stage.
Besides of playing a lot of piano and testing several settings, I've added a MIDI-map to the volume-slide of the piano in order to adjust the volume. That works very well!

BUT:
My piano (Yamaha CP33) has a wheel which has no function yet. According to PTQ, it seems to be 'controller 1' (with values from 0 to 127).
I would like to use this wheel to adjust the Dynamics with (or maybe other setting).
But: in the settings for MIDI-mappings, there is no entry for this controller!
When I turn this wheel, there come MIDI-events for Controller 1, that means, my piano sends MIDI-signals for it, and PTQ recognizes it.

Does anybody know if it is possible to add a controller to a MIDI-mapping, that is not (yet) listed as available?

(Of course, I did a search on this forum for this, but could not find anything on this)

Thanks!

First make sure you have the MIDI tab set to "Gull Featured" not "Minimalistic".  You'll very likely see the controller under that.

If you can see it check it's not the listed as e.g. pitch wheel.

If you can't find it then try "insert" to add a new entry for a controller to your midi window.   You should be able to add any controller number from there.

Yes that worked, thank you.

Because the options window was bigger than the physical screen, I could not see the 'insert' button.

Viridis, congrats! When I've been looking for 49 key MIDI controller, I've been searching it for 2 weeks, to find the best one that will match with my wishes. So long story short, one day my friend recommended me this article, where I could definitely compare all of them, and compare pros and cons and choose the one I needed.
