Topic: Question ( versions of ”Who can sail”, folksong)

My special approach to ”Who can sail without wind” (swedish folksong) with Steingraeber.
I improvised six (6) different versions in ”one take”. The melody isn’t clearly expressed/identified, but one can ”feel it” a bit in the background. Original melody comes at the end of the improvisations. ”Question” is the name I gave my 6 versions of the song.
Enjoy!

Well done.
Version 4, 5 and 6 are my favorites.

Thank you so much, MrRoland!  So glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for your comment on my ”Rabbit in the hole” (sorry for late reply). Your kind comments encourage me to play more and ”compose”.

Re: Question ( versions of ”Who can sail”, folksong)

Very nice miniature improv.

Re: Question ( versions of ”Who can sail”, folksong)

Thank you for your kindness, Kacper_ek ! I like those words ”miniature improv”. Most of my music pieces are short. Maybe, because I have listened/played small pieces of those great composers when I was young. My music probably gives a little glimpse into my soundworld and my simple compositional language  :-)  I’m still learning all the time, specific ideas within a ”small form”.

Re: Question ( versions of ”Who can sail”, folksong)

Being unfamiliar with the folklore of your country, I didn't know this song.
so I listened to the end to get the theme.
Then I played back the whole thing humming the chorus, and I liked that !
It would be even better if you gave us the lyrics !

Thank you Gaston! Those words, your whole comment,  make me happy. And as a Gaston-school pupil, I will remember the lyrics next time I have something similar. Thanks!
