Topic: What's this sound and how to remove it...

Hello Pianoteq users,

What's this 'wavy echo' sound and how to remove it in 0:03, 0:06, 0:10 here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/15CUmdY...sp=sharing

This is my new composition production using Pianoteq Steinway D.

I've also heard this in my other productions using different VST piano software.

Appreciate your help...

I'm not sure, but I think you might be referring to the sympathetic resonance.

Thanks Shikopaleta.
That's probably what it is.

So, sympathetic resonance is part of the piano sound.
Is there a way to reduce or remove it using Pianoteq settings?

I've struggled to get rid of this sound.

Does it annoy listeners if it's heard?

If you have the Standard or higher version, on the Design tab is a slider for Sympathetic Resonance.
It doesn't annoy me, I do not know about other people.

Zeroed sympathetic resonance.
I still hear it but reduced though.

I can use it with adjustments to
1. Mic
2. Velocity
to control this sound.

Thanks Shikopaleta for your tip.

If you want to spot and remove any resonant frequencies much like a professional audio engineer does, but without your having to have been trained as an engineer or acquired years of experience as such, Sonible smart:EQ 2 just might help you out of your dilemma.

I use it whenever I need to see potentially troublesome resonances and in a hurry remove a few of them.

It regularly sells for $129 (US) at Plugin Boutique, while you can demo it without any obligation from Sonible.

If you immediately see it as a way to remove unwanted resonances, you may get it at Euro 69 right now with a Spring discount code.

The code is: SPRING-ME-UP.

The smart:EQ 2 software itself is available from the Sonible website: https://www.sonible.com/.

Thanks Amen Ptah Ra.

I watched the intro video on the site.
I still here that 'wavy echo' sound despite eq'ing.

So, this sound just appears when it wants to.
And, this plugin (or any other) can't remove it.

It's probably just a sonic character of the piano.
In fact, I hear it even in Spotify (etc.) solo piano music.

I have just two (2) questions, “Did you specifically try Sonible smart EQ: 2 on your file?” and “Can’t Celemony Melodyne repair and remove altogether undesirable tremolo and vibrato modulations like yours?”

Amen Ptah Ra,
I tried both on this music.
I still hear the 'wavy sound' (vibratto).

I like smart EQ: 2's user-friendliness.
I may buy it in the future
if I compose multi-instrument music.
Thanks for this recommendation.
