Re: Pensive Poet | warm Steinway D

Always a treat hearing your music. Somehow, I imagine there could be another ending. But perhaps it leads into the next piece with a certain logic.

Have you tested the pieces with students? That is an important step in writing for the educational market.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Great performance, recording, and presentation as always.

Much enjoyed. I see what George means about the ending - I almost expected to hear a Phrygian cadence there, as in the middle movement of a Baroque concerto...

I love this cute G sharp that comes to spice up this nice tune !

Thanks for sharing!
I like it.
When you release your piano method, please notify us.
I might like to try it.

Re: Pensive Poet | warm Steinway D

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

There are quite a few of these educational pieces that I have plans to further develop into larger/more complex works, and this is one.

Yes, the majority of the material that will go into this method has been tested on students, and the newer pieces are being tested as I complete them. And yes, working with students with them is always enlightening -- giving a much better sense of not only common technical challenges and solutions, but also of how a student is likely to hear and process a given piece initially. I first started composing these educational pieces about 17 or 18 years back when I was first teaching and found gaps in the method books I was using. Some have been revised very heavily over the years.

By the way, this particular music is based on the Ukrainian Dorian scale (hence the G#).

I'll keep you posted as the release approaches -- thanks for the interest.
