Topic: Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor

Small piece by Rachmaninoff; according to the Internet, hated by himself.
I got suggested to use an amber color for the keys, so here it is. I advise to raise the volume for quite the immersion.

I forgot to include the instrument/preset on my previous posts: Steinway D, 3 mic preset.

Nice and impressive, but can you tell us a little more about this performance ?
Does anyone really plays ?

Re: Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor

Thanks @Lanny.

@Gaston It is derived from a quantized midi file. I'm not sure if someone plays it or not, I would imagine it isn't played by anyone since it sounds just straight up robotic and there aren't any mistakes in it.
Most of the midis I use I get them from 8notes.com or similar websites. I heavily modify them to make them sound the way I like. It takes me about a week or so for a 5 minutes track, either by going note by note or by me recording and adjusting some parts (I'm not a good pianist so I usually record at like 1/4 the speed).
A few others, like the Mario World I have in my channel are straight up renders of the quantized midi with a simple "humanizer"; the "humanizer" improves how natural it sounds bur, you can clearly hear and see the difference.

So straight answer, no, I don't think they are real performances and I wouldn't consider the editing a performance.

As a bonus point, this last week I've been modifying it again to make another one more closely resembling this performance: https://youtu.be/mXGSfJn3nKQ
Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be done with it, as I'm still editing the 3rd movement of the Appassionata.

Excellent work on the midi editing, it does sound quite convincing! And I think the amber colour is an improvement - a little less 'flashy' than plain white.

Re: Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor

Regardless of the source for this performance, it is the sound of the piano that impressed me.

Re: Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor

I am glad you guys like it. It took me a couple months to get the right mix of VSTs to make it sound the way it sounds, plus a couple weeks to make it look the way it looks.
My goal is not to say "Hey I did it!" but rather to make just a high quality "performance" of pieces that I like; I'm just going for the experience on this little project.
