Topic: Poor mid tones and ringing high tones

Hi everybody,
I’m a new user of pianoteq stage. All presets, also the full ones, steinway d and u4, not sound at all like the recorded ones in the demos online. I have a recent macbook air, and the sound is not so exceptional neither directly from the internal soundcard neither in rendering mode (wav export).
Mid tones are empty and high tones are almost unbeareable (cuts the ear).
Can somebody help me understand?
Thank you

Re: Poor mid tones and ringing high tones

Did you adjust the velocity curve? Care to post some audio examples? Which speakers are you listening through?

I’ve tryed adjusting and not adjusting, does not solve the problem. Audio was listened in my sennheiser earphones, the same where I listened the samples on website.
What I listen from the samples is bot the same I listen from my pianoteq... I want to understand if I’m missing some important information.
I’ll record something and post here.
Thanx

Sennheiser makes a lot of gear. What is the exact model of your earphones?

Do note that some examples on the website contain tweaked presets (those that say "customized" - they were usually customized with Standard or Pro version, and as such those wouldn't be possible on Stage), and some are actually fully mixed demos including other instruments, so...
