Topic: House of the Rising Sun (The Animals)

Made this piano solo arrangement yesterday

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gabb-gZOjY8

I play with pianoteq for 6 years now, and I always used the Stenway D (modified classical recording BA)
but for this video I used the recently purchased Ant. Petrof
The preset is "recording 1", untouched (just calibrated the velocity/note off/pedal to fit my studiologic SL88 Grand settings and my playing)

I really like the Ant. Petrof. sound

BTW I also bought the "Honner Collection" instruments, that are totally crazy and fun to play with. I recommend it ^^

Re: House of the Rising Sun (The Animals)

the first piece of music I tried to learn on a guitar 50 years ago, at that time, for me the sun was rising and now it's setting, nice interpretation

Re: House of the Rising Sun (The Animals)

Woohoo, I like your fancy RH arpeggios in the 2nd half!
Petrof seems to be getting quite a lot of love, works well in classical styles too (see David Izquierdo's Chopin op55 no1).
Hohner collection is somewhat under-appreciated, I feel. Sometimes I like to mess around and do some classical-style improv with the Electra or Pianet!

Thanks Bernard, it's crazy to know you learned this song 50 years ago, that means this is really a "legendary" song, that probably be performed in the future again and again

but your "and now it's setting" is kinda sad.

Thank you
The Petrof is so nice I perform some old stuffs and kinda "rediscover" them. It's like when you buy some new headset and you listen to all your playlists like the first time

I really love the "Planet N Little Fuzzy" preset. I'm currently writing a "Silent Hill" arrangement and playing it with this is just too fun ^^

"but your "and now it's setting" is kinda sad. "

it was just to play on words with the title of the song, no sadness for me concerning my age

Some of my friends told me "hooo you made a Johnny one" (I'm french-speaking actually). But I prefer the original lyrics
