Topic: Philip Glass on the Steinway B

My recording of "Opening" from Glassworks by Philip Glass. I have used the Recording 1 preset which employs spaced figure 8 mics. I find the figure 8s deliver a clearer more direct sound than the spaced omnis for this particular piece which is much pedalled. Any other pianos you might recommend?

Great sound - suits the B - really enjoyable. Recent pianos Steingraeber, Grotrian, then maybe I'd give some time over to the K2 and/or YC5 - could be interesting to try those. Since Philip Glass has a certain cadence, maybe the trusty Bechstein might add something of an interesting edge. Super stuff.
