Topic: Single key sound fade out

When I play soft, slow, bluesy music such as Summertime I often play a melody note and hold the key down.   This seems to prolong the fade out time of the note beyond what I feel is normal.   Which parameter is the best way to address this issue ?

Re: Single key sound fade out

Might wanna tweak the soundboard impendance. But I'd say it's a pretty normal behavior. If you hold the key, dampers are not on the strings, so they vibrate freely until they run out of energy. It can take a long time, depending on pitch.

Unfortunately, I have tried that with no noticeable difference.

Thanks

Direct sound duration?

Bingo !

I had tried that earlier with no success.

However, I gave up too easily.

I had been moving the value in the wrong direction.

It appears that a larger value results in a shorter decay time.

So, anyway ….. that seems to have given me what I was looking for.

Thank you
