Topic: Suggestion: support fo Windows for ARM

While searching, probably like many others, for a totally silent and powerful solution for Pianoteq, I was wondering if you could evaluate the chance to support Windows for ARM. Although it just came out and for this reason it is not so widespread, perhaps it should be easier to create, comparing to other mobile platforms: actually the programming interface is always the usual Windows and Pianoteq seems to already support ARM CPUs. The SnapDragon 835 showed a performance between an i3 and an i5 when it executes native applications, but it degrades to an Atom or even less when it emulates x86 code. You may consider it as an idea for the future... Perhaps, this version could be the answer for some users.

Sincerely.

Re: Suggestion: support fo Windows for ARM

I wonder which advantage would give us Windows over GNU/Linux...
There are Linux desktops very similar to Windows'.

Hello, excuse me if I did not reply immediately.
With my previous message, it was not my intention to feed the "usual" war Windows vs Linux... I was just thinking on a powerful solution, but silent, because probably what you would like to ear is your music, not the noise made by some fans. I just suggested this port because perhaps it could be much less complicate to do, if compared to an Android version.

Sincerely.

Check out Intel NUC.

Hard work and guts!

What I tried to say (just my opinion, it may be wrong) is that you already have the Linux ARM version of Pianoteq, I don't find any difference between Windows and Linux if you just want to play piano (the problem is if you want to use MS Word, Sibelius etc). The installation is more or less unzipping a file.
I have not experience with Windows over ARM but I guess that if latency is high, it will not be easy to get down, at least not as easy as it is in Linux.
By the wat, there are some x86 based fanless PCs for Windows.
