Topic: Cramer remastered

here's the recent test recording from my ongoing Broadwood/Haydn project as previously posted in this thread, only I wasn't happy with all the fuzz in the midesections, so i tried to clean things up a little by swapping 4006s in for the original MK2s, reduced pedal noise from the mix, and did some slight eq and warmth with the Lindell TE-100 & 254E plugins (respectively).  I'm sure this sort of thing is best left to the pros and i share this really as having been more of a learning exercise for me in the dark arts of the Tonmeisters, but it's sure been fun tinkering with plugins!

Quite expressive, and very good attack sound! Not easy to emulate the old instrument's very present hammers!

I'm still struggling with the sound... mic placement of course helps with picking-up and giving clarity to the particulars of the instrument's action & workings, but i don't like how, as the volume and mass of sound increases (as in the boomy minor section of this adagio), the sound starts to become synthetic and loses the sort of naturalness it has when less is going on... 'still playing with this in my fxp and virtual rec setup...
