A little heavy (like each player isn't respecting the other's musical 'space'), but way cool! It's like making a real movie with synthesized actors. Nice job!
Since they were all me, I need to learn how to respect my musical space!! That is a good thought to keep in mind when doing this type of piece.
Thank you!
Other than that preference of mine (easily solved by a virtual mix engineer standing at your virtual mix console while listening to your virtual musicians), it's great!
:^D
I could have made the same comments as dklein about "other's musical space", otherwise I think it's quite a good job.
Virtual sax, bass, and drums, can you tell us more ?
Do you play sax with a breath controller ?
Thank you! I could use a virtual mix engineer. I use Izotope but the plugin does not tell me things are too busy!
I used Roger Linn Design's LinnStrument to control Audio Modeling's SWAM Saxophone (Alto Model). The aftertouch on the LinnStrument controls the breath.
The bass is from Trillian - also controlled with LinnStrument. I used this plugin in Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) mode which allows me to independently control expression (including pitch bend) on each note.
The drums are from BFD Peter Erskine Expansion library controlled with a Zendrum.

Thank you for these useful details.
I intend to buy some Swam instruments, solo strings and saxes.
The LinnStrument is way beyond my budget, I'll take the Leap motion instead, maybe with a breath controller for the saxes.
Hi amyjer .. (jeramy ? ;-). I like the sonic presence and that Pianoteq Steinway B really is impressive in your mix. Nice work.

Thank you for the kind words!
The Steinway B does really well in a mix - I only did minor tweaking.
Note that there is a less expensive LinnStrument option - the LinnStrument 128. It has all the functionality of the bigger instrument. Other MPE controller include the Seaboard Block which is less expensive, highly expressive but more difficult to control pitch bend (in my view).
