Blacks up +3 above whites in velocity note editor

The above creates a much more level playing feild. There maybe need to alter pianoteq's velocity curve to taste.

Opinions are like onions, sometimes they make you cry ; )

Kindest Regards,

Re: VPC1 Setup Suggestions

Sorry I posted twice. I have since revised VPC1 Editor general curve

0,0
22,1
117,127
127,127

(Blacks 3+ above whites)

Re: VPC1 Setup Suggestions

Looking at this again for a few minutes, I like the following in the VPC Editor

0,0
20,9
117,127
127,127

And this...

0,0
25,1
127,127

...in Pianoteq

May I ask why you're parting with it, Chris?

My mind says Kawai, but my heart says Nord.

Re: VPC1 Setup Suggestions

Hello,

waiting for arrival of the just orederd VPC1... cannot wait.

However, this thread raised a question in my head. I assume that the build in velocity curve modifies the outgoing midi signals, right? In this case above adjustments kind of change the value on top?

So, if one wants to use the build in curve without any modifications, the build in preset has to be selected and in Pianoteq the velocity curve has to be linear from 0 to 127, correct?

Yes,

The question is what to do with the Pianoteq presets that don't use the linear 0-127 curve...

I think you will have a very good base with your VPC1.
I still continue to think that the best way to go is to adapt our hands to the sound instead of waiting to find the perfect curve.
