Topic: Limiter parameters

I really miss hands-on adjustment of limiter parameters, that we had in Pianoteq 3...

What do you say - right click the "L" letter and opens the three limiter parameters that are there (I can see them in MIDI mapping section, but I don't need that, I'd really love to see them on the GUI as suggested)? Could happen in next version?

What about you, people? Would you like to see them back on the GUI? I hope Modartt listens us

Hard work and guts!

Eh, no takers? :S

Re: Limiter parameters

Perhaps when the L lights up there should be the sound of a string breaking...?

For serious limiting, why would a Dragon of the World such as yourself not use Pianoteq in a VST host and a limiter in the signal path (especially as there could be more parameters to play with)? But for most users a simple pre-set limiter is not, I suspect, a serious limitation...

Re: Limiter parameters

I can't seem to get the limiter to work for me. Perhaps it is because my parameters aren't set right. If the option exists to use a limiter then I would agree with EvilDragon that we should be able to access the settings in the GUI.

Pianoteq's limiter settings can be saved with the preset. Using a 3rd party limiter makes things more complicated.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Limiter parameters

It would be nice. Maybe instead of a menu available clicking over the "L", they can also insert the limiter and all his options in the Effects menu leaving the "L" as an option for activating it at the end of the FX chain.

First of all +1 for the menu but I'd leave everything in one place. I consider a coherent menu navigation very important. I'd move the limiter to the effects section entirely. Looks like there is still enough space in the effects chain bar for another seven letters. BTW, new users wouldn't ask themselves what "L" means and the shiny white unabbreviated word lets you monitor whether the limiter is on or off in a better way. If theres still enough space after adding the limiter I'd redesign the effects bar to a flow chart like the effects panel.

1+ for putting the Limiter in the Effects area.
