Topic: Unbalanced volume across midi keyboard

I am surprised that the volume at the upper two octaves my Tyros 5 76 keys is significantly higher than I expect.   The Pianoteq equaliser presets do nothing to reduce the upper area loudness.

I have to be very aware to reduce my finger velocity when playing these high notes and I do not believe that this should be necessary.

Admittedly my keyboard only has eight key press velocity steps but even so something does not seem correct.

You may always check what your keyboard actually sending to Pianoteq by opening Options -> Midi tab. In your case you may want to filter the messages to show only "note on" events.

That would be extremely annoying although a bright upper register is more appealing than a dull one.  Can you adjust the EQ with the sound card?

Not with my Echo sound card.  My Behringer mixer has high and low equalisation but adjusting the high for piano frequencies that stop at 4K has little attenuation effect.
