Topic: Some very little information on the piano sound of Norah Jones

Since this sound, insofar as it is a recurring sound from album to album, has been brought up here before, I thought that I should share what I ran across today:

One of the pianos she records on is a Yamaha at Electric Lady in New York. (The studio created by Jimi Hendrix, but not where he recorded "Electric Lady Land.")

I discovered this after hearing a piano sound that I liked on the radio, on the light R&B song "All of Me," played by John Legend. Can't say that the music is my cup of tea, but the piano sound in the midrange was excellent. I thought it might be an EQ-ed piano sample library, given the clarity and presence of the midrange. Regardless, after looking up the song, I found a brief article on the mixing ( http://www.sonicscoop.com/2014/06/09/ho...hn-legend/ ), which led me to look for more info on Electic Lady Studio, which led to the discovery that Norah Jones uses the same studio. And, presumably, the same piano, unless that studio has two Yamaha's.

I listened to the R&B song on Youtube, and the piano sound is not so good. On the radio, however, and I imagine on a CD, it does have that Norah Jones cut and presence. It's a little more in tune on the R&B song, however. Not as pleasantly jangly.
