Topic: BRAVO! New user.

I have just set up my home studio to purchase Pianoteq. I wanted to move up in quality from my Yamaha YDP 181 which I'm still using as a midi keyboard.

To start off with I bought a very fast computer with an Intel Core i7 as my 6yr old desktop was getting creaky in a lot of ways.I then bought a very lightly used Yamaha HS8 which was mint except a scuff on one side that rubbed out, the HS8 sounds awesome and practically disappears when turned on. With good placement I can just hear how a piano sounds (meets my expectations at least) and I don't feel that it's coming out of a speaker. I also bought a pair of M-Audio BX8 D2's because SamAsh is having a blowout on them for around 220 a pair!

While I do like the sound from the first BX8 I've unboxed and am using I feel like the HS8 is much clearer and suits the sound I like more but we'll see. These are my first monitors and after quite a bit of homework and setting placement and tweaking Pianoteq velocity curves etc. I just started playing. And I can say I've just gotten off the piano bench after playing for an hour straight! That feels so great. I'm not sure if I'll find some way to use the extra BX8 I have for piano playing or not.

But the most important bit PIANOTEQ the sound quality and tactile feel of the latest Pianoteq 5.1 is stupendous. I haven't enjoyed myself this much musically since sneaking around my college campus music rooms and auditoriums and playing the grand pianos when no one else was around. Making practice enjoyable, thank you creators and contributors. I look forward to continuing on with Pianoteq and PLAYING.

Sneaking around playing the pianos on campus ehh? . . .  BTDT  ;-)

You will have a great experience with Pianoteq.  Get a set of BeyerDynamic headphones . .  DT-880 . . and you will play for hours.

I went to Ithaca College , not for music, and snuck around and played a bunch of really nice pianos in the practice rooms a few time as well.
