Topic: Focusrite Scarlett 2i4: Linux support?

Hi,

my Zoom R24 is a quite decent portable multi-track recorder, but only a stop-gap measure as a USB sound device, and I also never got sound output quite stable with it (granted: this might be due to my setup since I am currently using tablet hardware as my main PC, which among other things means that I have to use a USB hub). So today I decided to get a Scarlett 2i4.

And what can I say: stable ASIO support for once, and without the need of ASIO4ALL. Also very decent sound and low noise, it seems.

It seems the device is compatible to the USB 2.0 audio device class. So... it should work with Linux, right? Can anyone confirm this, preferably first-hand?

Hi,
first-hand I can report, that my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 works out-of-the-box with Linux, as the Scarlett is class-compliant. About the Scarlett 2i4 I don't know, but I am quite sure, that it is supported too, as it seems just to be a "scale-up" - if this term exists ;-) .

cheers

I think I love you. Yes, the 2i4 should be just a slightly larger version of the 2i2, the differences being a secondary pair of outputs and a MIDI interface. If the 2i2 works, I am very hopeful for my 2i4. Thanks.

+1
I use the Scarlett 6i6 on Linux without problems.
The soundcard is recognised out of the box on ubuntu Studio and Tango Studio and works perfectly with Jack.
